Observations from an erotic romance author.

Don’t forget that I’ll be guest posting on the Novelspot Blog, Behind the Scenes, all this week. I’ll be posting about the background work I did in regards to “Masquerade”. I think it will be a lot of fun! Click here to get to the Behind the Scenes blog.
On another note, there is a thread on the Epic boards that I read that had me rolling all over the couch. It regards…are you ready for this…the Golden Hoo Ha. No, I’m not making this up. It’s a great post, and it explains so much in such a great way. I just had to share. The Golden Hoo Ha

It’s Sunday, bright and beautiful in my part of the world. Tomorrow is the first day of October, and the kids are going nuts thinking about Halloween costumes, carving pumpkins, listening to scary stories and watching scary movies, and, of course, getting gobs of candy! I can’t wait for the leaves to start changing color…if they can in this drought. I love fall; it’s my favorite time of year. The air gets crisp, everything bursts into rustic colors, the wind blows chilly, and the leaves crunch under my feet. I’d say it’s just about perfect.
October is also the month for the workshops over at Marie Roy’s. It will begin on October 4 and go all the way through November! It’s going to be a lot of fun, with guest writers (including your’s truly) giving advice and answering questions. I can’t wait to see what everyone has to say. It’ll also be my first workshop, so I’m looking forward to doing my part.
Of course, October does mean a downhill run toward the other holidays, but that’s okay. It also means a deep ‘winter cleaning’ (we do spring cleaning, too) for the house. I like the house to be spic and span when we put up decorations; plus I don’t need the hassle of a major overhaul when I have friends and family coming to visit. Of course, keeping it clean is the big job. It’s hard to do with kids who have more energy than a nuclear power station. But the incentive of presents and food always seems to help.
I did consider writing a Christmas book again this year, but I simply don’t think I’m going to have the time. I wish I did, because I have one gnawing away at me. I suppose it’ll have to wait until next year. However, I do have my eye on Valentine’s Day, so stay tuned.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the heck out of the weekend. Monday is only a few hours away (yikes!), but until then, I think I’ll just bury myself in a good read and pretend I have weeks off instead of a few measly hours. Have a wonderful rest of the day, and a great upcoming week!

So, I thought the time for the flu was over. Oh how wrong I was! Here I am, coughing up my toes, trying to catch my nose with a tissue, feeling like death warmed over. And my poor family are all suffering, if not from the actual illness, then from my ill mood and tired state.
I’m thinking my characters are going to be suffering soon, too. It’s hard not to let a fever and an elephant on my chest make me do things to helpless paper characters; you know how I love to make men suffer. But in the end they’re always happy! That’s my big defense.
I’m going to head over to my newest book to see what I can do with the hero. Hmmm…what shall I do to make the younger man struggle in getting the older, sexy woman’s attention? Now that’s a great question!

I got the first review for Masquerade, and it was very, very positive! Much to my delight, they saw the strength of sweet Sophie, which is what I’d intended. I think every woman is strong, even though she might have issues. Heck, doesn’t everyone have issues about something in their lives? But I was really, really happy to see such a great review for my little book. You can find the Masquerade review here over at Ecataromance’s Sensual section.
And don’t forget to join us Loose Id authors over at Romance Junkies for a chat tomorrow night. We’ll be there from 9 pm, EST, to around 10 pm. Lots of fun always ensues, and questions are always encouraged and welcomed. I can’t wait to hear about all the new releases! I hope to see you there.
